Bayern talent Wanner hits the DFB in the EM opening win
Paul Wanner from FC Bayern Munich entered the goal scorer list at the successful European Championship start of the German U17 national team.
The team of coach Marc-Patrick Meister defeated Italy 3-2 (2-1) at the start of the tournament in Israel. Tom Bischof (24th) from TSG Hoffenheim and Bayern-Youngster Wanner (27th) put the DFB juniors in the lead with a double strike.
In the person of Kevin Bruno (44th) and Alesandro Bolzan (48th), Italy succeeded in equalization before Dzenan Pejcinovic (56.) marked the winning goal from FC Augsburg.
The German team also meets Luxembourg (Thursday, 4.30 p.m.) and EM host Israel (Sunday, 7 p.m.).
Wanner wrote history with his professional debut on January 7th and 15 days as the youngest Bayern player in the Bundesliga. Overall, the offensive midfielder came to the professionals for four short missions this season. Most recently, Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann had no longer taken into account as often.
