It is real! Nier: Automata will have an anime

For a couple of weeks, the rumor of an anime of _ Nier has been circulated: Automata _. Now, during a special presentation for the fifth anniversary of the game, has revealed that a television adaptation of Yoko Taro's great work is a reality.

Unfortunately, Square Enix was limited only to confirming the existence of this anime, and that Aniplex is involved. Outside of that, there is no information related to your release date, the study behind the project, or its history. Although it is very sure that we see an adaptation of the facts that were carried out in the 2017 game, does not discard the possibility of seeing something new , or some kind of parallel adventure. This is the description of Square Enix on nier: Automata:

"Nier: Automata tells the history of the Androids 2B, 9S and A2 and its battle to recover a driven distopy invaded by powerful machines.

Humanity has been expelled from Earth by mechanical beings from another world. In a final effort to recover the planet, human resistance sends a strength of android soldiers to destroy the invaders. Now, a war between machines and androids takes place... A war that could soon reveal a truth of the forgotten world a long time ago ".

Next to the teaser trailer, the official poster of this anime was also shared:

Nier: Automata is a game of 2017 developed by PlatinumGames, published by Square Enix, and with Yoko Taro on the role of designer and writer. The game managed to captivate the public thanks to its heartbreaking history that presents us to a couple of robots in a world where there are no humans, but our philosophies continue to impact the behavior of the machines.

These are great news. Nier: Automata is one of my favorite games, and it will be very interesting to see how the story of 2b and 9s manages to adapt to this new medium, especially considering the way the same game decides to tell us their facts. Hopefully a high-level study is in charge of this project, such as Ufotable or MAPPA.
